Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling hall gaming is not permitted. Eight casinos are based in a relatively tiny area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few controls constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, funding sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are allegedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is correct of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau gambling hall, highlights 150 one armed bandits and sixty tables. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel complex that highlights a number of luxuries on top of the gambling den, which offers ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
