There are a number casinos located in the state, the biggest number being on immobilized scows. The largest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of gambling room, 1,500 slots, thirty table games, such as blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many varieties of poker; also 3 eatery’s, daily entertainment, and betting instructions. A further substantial Amerindian gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 slot machines, and 14 table games. Furthermore, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and four restaurants. There are several other popular Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.
A tinier Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a river boat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend water based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slots, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa river boat casino, The Isle of Capri, is open never closes, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. river boat gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 one armed bandits, 14 table games, live entertainment, and Thursday 21 events.
Iowa casinos present an excellent amount of tax revenue to the state government of Iowa, which has allowed the bankrolling of many commonwealth wide projects. Vacationers have increased at a rapid rate along with the demand for processors and a growth in employment. Iowa casinos have contributed to the growth of the economy, and the affection for gambling in Iowa is widespread.
