An Internet Betting Glossary

Even though the fact that online betting is now a billion dollar industry, and countless thousands of brand-new wagerers world-wide sign up daily to wager at internet gambling dens, there are still millions of newcomers to the world of online betting who don’t as yet have a good understanding of much of the doublespeak used in online wagering, and gambling on athletics in general. However, knowledge of these terms is necessary to interpreting the games and rules of wagering:

ACTION: Any style of wager.

ALL-IN: In poker, all-in alludes to a gambler has put all of their chips into the pot. A second pot is developed for the bettors with remaining money.

ALL-UP: To bet on many horses in the identical contest.

ANTE: A poker phrase for placing a specified value of chips into the pot prior to the start of each hand.

BRING-IN: A necessary bet in 7-card stud carried out by the player displaying the smallest value card.

BUST: You lose; As in chemin de fer, when a gambler’s cards total over 21.

BUY-IN: The minimal sum of chips necessary to get in a match or tournament.

CALL: As in poker, when a bet is the same as a previously carried out wager.

CHECK: In poker, to stay in the game without betting. This is acceptable only if no other gamblers bet in that round.

CLOSING A BET: As in spread wagering, meaning to put a bet on par with but converse of the starting wager.

COLUMN BET: To bet on one or more of the three columns of a roulette game.

COME BET: In craps, similar to a pass-line bet, but made after the player has established his point.

COME-OUT ROLL: A crapshooters first toss to establish a number, or the 1st roll after a point is achieved.

COVERALL: A bingo term, meaning to cover all the squares on a bingo card.

CRAPPING OUT: In craps, to toss a two, three or twelve is an immediate defeat on the come-out toss.

DAILY DOUBLE: To select the champions of the initial 2 matches of the tournament.

DOWN BET: To wager that the result of an action will be lower than the lowest end of the quote on a spread bet, also known as a "sell".

DOZEN BET: In roulette, to gamble on any of three groups of 12 numbers, one-12, etc.

EACH WAY BET: A sports wager, which means to gamble on a group or player to win or position in a match.

EVEN MONEY BET: A bet that pays the same number as wagered, ( 1:1 ).

EXACTA: gambling that 2 horses in an event will complete the race in the absolute same assignment as the wager – also referred to as a " Perfecta ".

FIVE-NUMBER LINE BET: In roulette, a wager carried out on a block of five numbers, such as 1-2-3-0, and 00.
